About Us

Background

Many years ago, as part of a successful and growing company Rob Yong and his employees wanted to give something back and therefore they donated to various national and local charities annually. There was, however a problem with this as it was difficult to see what directly benefited individuals and how much money was swallowed up in administration costs. Therefore at the company’s annual conference in 2003, the employees voted to set up their own registered charity, funded by donations from employee’s wages and the company’s profits with the company footing all the administration costs. This meant 100% of donations went to worthy causes. The charity was legally registered with the charity commission as the Tishie Yong Foundation for the Disabled (Reg. Charity No. 1104927) by the firm, Grant Thornton, who kindly agreed to audit the accounts free of charge each financial year.

Funding

Nearly all Dusk Till Dawn employees donate 1% of their salary to the charity though a salary sacrifice scheme, some staff chose to give more than 1%. Some staff donate their spare time free of charge too. Each year the management at least doubles the total amount of money that has been donated by the employees, they also fund the entire administration costs of the charity ensuring that every penny raised can be used in grants. Money is also donated voluntarily by individual donors and occasional fundraising events.
